  • Scrimshaw reads: "Andrew ButtĀ  Flat IslandsĀ  Born August 16, 1842"
  • Condition: One crack at cap end, Plug painted pink and blue at some point in past. Body of horn in very good shape, with no cracks, though surface is irregular in places. Butt family provenance can be established as arriving in the Flat Islands in June, 1842, by going to http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Flats/1569/flatis.html
